AI Results are Only as Strong as the Source Data

It seems like there is barely a headline or ad anymore that doesn’t mention AI somewhere in it.  If not in the headline, then many times, it is still in the body of the message.

AI may be the most overused and misunderstood technology today. Regardless of your feelings about it, I think we can all agree that it’s here to stay.

Like other new inventions and technologies, we’ll continue to learn how to extract its maximum value as we grow. We just need to use patience and perseverance as this happens – and remember that its greatest value is in speeding up the use of data.

Data has always been a challenge.  We started out having little to no data, and now we have an abundance of data at our fingertips.

One of the current challenges is finding effective ways of extracting the data’s value, and AI is extremely helpful in this regard. But an abundance of data doesn’t mean it’s the right data or it’s accurate.

There is still an ongoing need for harvesting good, useful, and timely data.

Relying on an AI engine as your information generator can be highly influenced – even flawed – by the human interpretation or personal preferences of the program architect (always remember these engines are programs, designed and built by humans).
